Jaguars rookie CB Gratz sidelined at least 3 weeks

Jacksonville Jaguars rookie cornerback Dwayne Gratz will miss at least the next three games with a high ankle sprain.

Coach Gus Bradley ruled Gratz out Monday, a day after the team's 28-2 loss to Kansas City. Gratz, a starter opposite veteran Alan Ball, left the game in the second quarter with what the team initially thought was a bruised shin. But further evaluation determined a severely sprained left ankle.

Gratz, a third-round draft pick from Connecticut, was wearing a walking boot and using crutches Monday.

Gratz will miss games against Oakland, Seattle and Indianapolis. Without him, the Jaguars likely will start Will Blackmon and have Mike Harris and rookie Demetrius McCray serve as backups.

Left guard Will Rackley, meanwhile, has a sprained left knee and could miss practice Wednesday.
