Jaguars' Lewis out 6 to 8 weeks with ankle injury
JACKSONVILLE, Fla. (AP) The Jacksonville Jaguars will be without versatile tight end Marcedes Lewis for six to eight weeks because of an ankle injury.
Coach Gus Bradley announced the extent of Lewis' injury Monday, a day after the Jaguars lost 41-10 at Washington.
Lewis suffered a high-ankle sprain on the first play of the third quarter and did not return. Bradley says Lewis could end up on the injured reserve/designated to return.
The Jaguars hope to have several injured starters back this week, including right tackle Austin Pasztor, who has been out for a month with a broken hand. Bradley says receiver Cecil Shorts III ran some Monday and could be back Wednesday, and safety Johnathan Cyprien remains in the NFL's concussion program and has not been cleared for contact.
