Jaguars DE Odrick: Jacksonville still thinking playoffs

Sure, it's a long shot, but the Jacksonville Jaguars are still mathematically alive in the race for the AFC South title.

Defensive end Jared Odrick said it's that chance, however slim it may be, that is keeping the team focused on the final two weeks of the season. At 5-9, the Jaguars are currently two games behind the first-place Houston Texans in the division and a game behind the Indianapolis Colts.

“There’s a fighting chance to be in the playoffs, so it’s not like we’re really looking at the offseason,” Odrick said. “We’re still thinking about, ‘What are our chances, what are our options, what are the things that need to happen for us to make the playoffs?’ The more we think like that, the better chance we do have.”

For Jacksonville to make the playoffs, the team would first need to win the final two games of the season, while the 3-11 Tennessee Titans would need to win their last two games against the Texans and Colts.

It's a lot to hope for, but for the Jaguars it's something to cling to as the team prepares to face the New Orleans Saints on Sunday.
