J.J. Watt adds interception return TD to his do-everything résumé
Seriously, though, is there anything J.J. Watt can’t do?
The Houston Texans’ all-everything defensive end already has a rock-solid reputation as one of the NFL’s most feared pass rushers — not to mention being a really great dude — and in Week 2, he scored the first offensive touchdown of his career, coming out of the backfield for a goal line grab in a 30-14 win over the Raiders.
This week against the Bills, Watt upped the ante once again, snagging his first regular-season NFL interception and returning it 80 yards for the second defensive score of his career. (The first came on a pick-six in a 2012 Wild Card game against Cincinnati.)
Watt’s play couldn’t have come at a better time for the Texans, as Buffalo was threatening to add to what was a 10-7 lead after a Ryan Fitzpatrick interception gave the Bills the ball inside the Houston 20.
But instead of finding Fred Jackson with his third-and-3 pass from the Texans 12, Bills quarterback E.J. Manuel found Watt — who, as of this writing, has as many total touchdowns this season as Arian Foster.
So, what will Watt do next to further grow his legend? It’s tough to say, but he could always give kicking a shot. Watch your back, Randy Bullock.
