Irsay not ready to make wholesale changes in Indy

Published Nov. 3, 2011 4:36 p.m. ET

Colts owner Jim Irsay says continuity will help his winless team the most, not wholesale changes.

In a wide-ranging interview Thursday, Irsay said he believe quarterback Peyton Manning will play at a high level for the next several years, that coach Jim Caldwell did a masterful coaching job the past two seasons and that eight straight losses do not erase the past decade of success.

Irsay also says it's too early to talk seriously about drafting Stanford quarterback Andrew Luck if the Colts wind up with the chance in next year's draft. But he acknowledged that team officials would have to consider making the pick if they thought Manning's eventual successor was available.
