Hyde, Clinton-Dix in mix at safety for Packers

GREEN BAY, Wis. (AP) Ha Ha Clinton-Dix was drafted in the first round by the Green Bay Packers to help shore up the safety position.

Though second-year pro Micah Hyde appears to have the early edge to start in the secondary.

Either way, the Packers hope they will have two young impact players at a position that failed to get an interception in 2013.

Veteran Morgan Burnett is the starter at one of the safety positions, though he has missed some time with ankle and oblique injuries. That has allowed Hyde and Clinton-Dix to see some snaps together on the first team in training camp.

Hyde has impressed the coaches quickly with his versatility. He made a nice interception on a red zone drill on Wednesday. Clinton-Dix was a two-year starter at Alabama.
