Head coach Mike McCoy ends Chargers minicamp early again

BY foxsports • June 19, 2015

Mike McCoy has seen enough of his team at minicamp.

So, for the second straight year, the Chargers head coach decided to end minicamp early for his veterans, according to ESPN.

“We did an outstanding job in the offseason program, so we canceled practice tomorrow,” McCoy explained to reporters after Wednesday’s practice.

Rookies still had to report on Thursday for a brief walkthrough. Then, they joined the veterans more some much-needed free time before training camp ramps up on July 24.

McCoy, like a few other coaches around the league, won't push his luck. A fluke injury without the pads on could change his season's fortunes.
