Going for gold: Marquise Goodwin to jump at U.S. track championships

The Buffalo Bills knew they had a speedster in wide receiver Marquise Goodwin when they drafted him out of the University of Texas in the 2013 NFL Draft. They also knew they would be adding an Olympic athlete to the roster as well.

While at Texas, Goodwin was an exceptional long jumper where he won two NCAA titles as well as finishing 10th at the London Olympics.

With some free time on his hand until training camp, Goodwin was added to the roster for the U.S. Track and Field Championships this weekend in Eugene, Ore. If he is to place in the top three, Goodwin would compete in the World Championships in Beijing from August 22-30. This could present an interesting conflict as training camp would be finishing up right around that time.

Goodwin could be on the roster bubble heading into training camp as he is coming off a season in which he recorded one reception in 10 games played.
