Glazer: Chuck Pagano 'fighting for his job' with Colts

BY foxsports • September 13, 2015

Chuck Pagano, who has made the playoffs in each of his first three seasons as head coach of the Indianapolis Colts, could be out of a job at year's end, according to FOX Sports NFL Insider Jay Glazer.

Glazer reports that Pagano is "fighting for his job" after the team offered him a very bad contract extension in the offseason. Pagano is 33-15 in the regular season and 3-3 in the playoffs since taking over the reins in 2012.

It's become a topic in the locker room that, according to Glazer, has players wondering, "How can our coach be fighting for his job right now?"

Pagano reportedly turned down a one-year contract extension this offseason. This is the final year of his current contract.

Last year, the Colts stunned the Denver Broncos in the divisional round of the playoffs and advanced to the AFC title game. Pagano's Colts have won one playoff game in each of his first three seasons as coach.

Last season, Glazer predicted that Jim Harbaugh wouldn't be back with the 49ers unless the team won the Super Bowl. Harbaugh, sure enough, was out and moving on to Michigan by season's end. So this is a story to monitor throughout the season.

The Colts opened the season Sunday in Buffalo against the Bills.
