Glazer: Bills fly to Minnesota to interview defensive boss

Operation "Cowher Contingency" has begun.

Members of the Buffalo Bills will fly to Minnesota Thursday to interview Vikings defensive coordinator Leslie Frazier for the Bills' vacant head-coaching position, FOXSports.com has learned.

Frazier, also a former Eagles assistant coach, is considered one of this year's leading head-coaching candidates and well-deserving of a shot. Frazier has helped fuel the Vikings defense this year to become one of the most stingy and aggressive units in the NFL.

Other candidates who could be in the Bills' crosshairs include Cardinals assistant head coach Russ Grimm, Eagles defensive coordinator Sean McDermott and Jets offensive coordinator Brian Schottenheimer. However, due to NFL rules restricting candidates in action during this upcoming playoff week these coaches are not yet able to be interviewed.

Chargers defensive coordinator Ron Rivera has also been linked to the Bills' opening, and if Buffalo chooses to interview him he could do so this week with San Diego on a playoff bye.
