NFL teams should follow whatever the Dallas Cowboys are doing to shut down New York Giants wide receiver Odell Beckham Jr. In two games against the Cowboys in 2015, Beckham has been held to just 79 yards receiving on nine receptions with no touchdowns.

In Week 7, the Giants targeted Beckham just six times and he came away with 35 yards receiving on four receptions. Beckham's target count was a major topic of discussion leading up to the game after he saw just one second half target against the Philadelphia Eagles in Week 7.

The Giants' passing game was held in check. Quarterback Eli Manning finished with just 170 yards passing. If the Giants want to gain another spark in the passing game, they will need to lean more heavily on Beckham, regardless of coverage. Six targets in a game is simply not enough for the offense to get going.
