STAR OF THE GAME: Chris Black caught two long touchdown passes for First Coast, helping the Buccaneers (6-0, 1-0 in District 1-5A) kick off district play with a win Friday over visiting Buchholz (2-3, 0-1).

TURNING POINT: After Buchholz had tied the score in the third quarter, Black broke free down the left for a 36-yard TD pass from Herman Tapley to restore the Buccaneers' advantage.

ON DEFENSE: With a sack, forced fumble, and four tackles for loss, Derrick Mitchell led a ferocious defense that held the Bobcats to 108 yards and kept them from completing a pass in the first half.

FAST FACTS: First Coast's Daron White led all rushers with 129 yards. ... The Buccaneers were plagued by 100 yards in penalties. ... Buchholz's Marquis Noble had a 65-yard touchdown called back by a holding call in the second quarter. ... Rashod Byers scored the last touchdown by recovering White's fumble in the end zone.
