Fan puts X on Hernandez signature

One New England Patriots fan is looking to get rid of a piece of football memorabilia.

A football autographed by former Patriots tight end Aaron Hernandez is being listed by eBay seller superbowlcardshop. Hernandez was arrested and charged Wednesday with first-degree murder, and the eBay seller would like to wash his hands of the tainted piece of memorabilia.

The seller says the autograph is 100 percent authentic, but a bit of flair has been added to it by crossing out Hernandez’ John Hancock with a black marker.

“This has been an autographed [sic] that I personally treasured and displayed proudly ever since,” superbowlcardshop wrote in the post. “However, in light of recent events, I want nothing more than to be rid of this ball.”

The opening bid starts at $50, and the seller added that half of the proceeds will be donated to the One Fund Boston. Check out the modified autograph in the photo below.
