Quarterback Daunte Culpepper is still playing professional football, albeit in the United Football League.
The 33-year-old Culpepper, who made five starts and appeared in eight games last season for the Detroit Lions, has signed with the Sacramento Mountain Lions. Culpepper will be reunited with his former Minnesota Vikings coach Dennis Green when the season begins this fall.
Culpepper says he wants to get back on the field and be a regular again and insists this opportunity was something he couldn't resist.
In 11 NFL seasons with Minnesota, Miami, Oakland and Detroit, Culpepper threw for 24,153 yards and 149 touchdowns.

His new team begins minicamp Thursday - held in a high school stadium - and Culpepper is expected to be in uniform.
