FLINT, Mich. (AP) A lawyer for Andre Rison says a federal warrant accusing the former NFL player of violating probation by testing positive for marijuana and failing to keep up with minimum child support payments has been lifted.

The Flint Journal reports (http://bit.ly/2aZkvcV ) that Rison appeared Tuesday in federal court and was released on bond.

In 2013, the Flint, Michigan, native was ordered to pay at least $1,000 a month.

Rison said Tuesday that he's ''just trying to get this behind'' him for his ''son's sake.''

Rison has said he's used marijuana candy to deal with post-NFL injuries.

A star receiver at Michigan State University, Rison played for seven NFL teams from 1989 to 2000. He's lately been a high school coach in Flint and Ann Arbor.
