David Walker hired by Lions to coach running backs

ALLEN PARK, Mich. (AP) David Walker is joining the Detroit Lions as running backs coach.

Walker is reuniting with Lions coach Jim Caldwell. They worked together when Caldwell was coach of the Indianapolis Colts.

The Lions announced the hiring Monday. Before going to Indianapolis in 2011, Walker was running backs coach at the University of Pittsburgh for six seasons.
