SANTA CLARA, Calif. (AP) Defensive tackle Tony Jerod-Eddie has signed a one-year exclusive rights tender with the San Francisco 49ers.

The team announced the move Tuesday.

He stepped in as a starter for the final two games last season after Ray McDonald was released because of off-field legal issues.

The 25-year-old Jerod-Eddie, who originally signed with the 49ers as an undrafted rookie free agent in May 2012, had 21 tackles in 2014.
