Cowboys RB Michael inactive against Giants week after trade

ARLINGTON, Texas (AP) Running back Christine Michael's debut with Dallas will have to wait at least one more week.

The 2013 second-round draft pick by Seattle acquired in a trade exactly a week ago was inactive for the season opener Sunday night against the New York Giants.

As expected, that left the question of replacing NFL rushing champion DeMarco Murray to his former backup, Joseph Randle, along with Darren McFadden and Lance Dunbar.

Receiver Victor Cruz (calf) and linebacker Jon Beason (knee) had already been declared out for the Giants.

The Cowboys were cautious with several starters in training camp and the preseason, but everybody was a full participant in practice Friday. That included All-Pro receiver Dez Bryant, who had a hamstring issue throughout camp.
