Colts punter: If Tannehill worth $96M, Luck will be given his own team
On Monday, the Miami Dolphins signed quarterback Ryan Tannehill to a six-year, $96 million contract extension.
Last season, Tannehill threw for 27 touchdowns with 12 interceptions and 4,045 yards for a 92.8 passer rating en route to an 8-8 record in his third professional season.
Tannehill was the eighth pick of the 2012 draft. The Colts selected Andrew Luck with the first pick of that draft.
Last season, Luck threw for 40 touchdowns with 16 interceptions and 4,761 yards for a 96.5 passer rating en route to an 11-5 record and playoff run that ended in the AFC Championship Game.
So imagine how much money Luck could get from the Colts after the final two years of his contract run out.
Having trouble coming up with a number? Let his teammate, punter Pat McAfee, help you out.
Well today's market showed that a 25-25 record gets you 96 million American dollars... Andrew's about to own a team I think #Tannehill #Luck

Truth be told, Luck will get nearly $4 million in base salary this coming season, and more than $16 million in 2016 if he doesn't sign an extension before then. But own a team?
Forbes last August valued the Colts at $1.4 billion. So McAfee might be a little off.
Nonetheless, McAfee fired off another tweet at Tannehill and the Dolphins.
I'm just sitting over here.. Kicking pigs.. Drinking margs.. Thinking... "Good for you guys".. Go get that cash #Tannehill #Luck

And finally, some Dolphins fans had enough, firing back at the punter.
But you know who had to have the last word.
