Colston out with broken collarbone

Published Sep. 9, 2011 1:00 a.m. ET

The Saints' wide receiver corps took a hit on Friday with the news that Marques Colston will be out approximately four weeks with a broken collarbone, FOXSports.com has learned.

Colston was hurt during New Orleans' 42-34 defeat at the hands of the Packers on Thursday. Before going down, he caught six passes for 81 yards in the loss.

The Saints boast several lethal passing targets, but Colston is generally considered the team's best wide receiver. He has reached 1,000 yards receiving in four of his five seasons.

The Saints played their season opener without wideout Lance Moore, who sat out with a groin injury.
