CFL team invites Ochocinco to work out in Florida
Former NFL wide receiver Chad Johnson will work out for the Montreal Alouettes this week, General Manager Jim Popp said in a statement posted on the CFL team's website.
"We do expect to meet with Chad Johnson and work him out in Vero Beach (Fla.) this week," the announcement said. "Talks did take place and have escalated over the last week."
Johnson, 36, said on Twitter he'll work out for the team Tuesday.
The former NFL star spent 10 seasons with the Cincinnati Bengals and last played with the New England Patriots in 2011. He compiled 11,059 yards and 67 touchdowns in 165 games, mostly with the Bengals.
The Dolphins cut Johnson before the 2012 season after he was arrested on domestic violence charges.
