Cardinals' Palmer knows he must shed label of not winning the big one

Carson Palmer acknowledges that he's been tagged with the inability to win-the-big-one label.
A six-turnover performance by Palmer, including four interceptions, in the Arizona Cardinals' 49-15 loss at the Carolina Panthers in Sunday's NFC title game only served to fuel such perception.
“Until you do, it’s one of those things where you have to break through,” Palmer told reporters Monday. “And I will.”
Palmer has appeared in only four postseason games - one of which lasted a handful of plays before he was injured - but has seven interceptions against only five touchdowns passes. A pair of end-zone picks in the playoffs against Green Bay and Carolina were the most troubling for Palmer, who said a dislocated right index finger sustained late in the regular season was not a factor.
The 36-year-old Palmer, who threw for 35 touchdowns passes and 4,671 yards to establish career highs in both categories, said Monday he will skip the Pro Bowl to to allow his hand to heal up.
“That’s the right thing to do,” Cardinals coach Bruce Arians said of the decision to skip the Pro Bowl. “You don’t need to take a chance with it.”
