Browns' Hillis out, Whitehurst starts for Seattle

Published Oct. 23, 2011 12:52 p.m. ET

Browns cornerback Joe Haden is active and will start against Seattle, but running back Peyton Hillis is out with a hamstring injury.

Charlie Whitehurst is starting at quarterback for the Seahawks, replacing Tavaris Jackson, who has an injured chest muscle.

Haden missed last week's game in Oakland with a sprained left knee and missed two days of practice this week. However, he looked fine during warm-ups Sunday, and the Browns announced he will play.

Hillis, who sat out a game earlier this season with strep throat, is sidelined with a hamstring injury he sustained last week. Montario Hardesty will start in Hillis' place and newly signed Chris Ogbonnaya is expected to play. Also, Browns starting linebacker Scott Fujita is out with a concussion.
