Browns center Alex Mack believes in Johnny Manziel

By Josh Pohola
On Monday, during an interview with Tony Grossi of ESPNCleveland, Cleveland Browns offensive tackle Joe Thomas stated that quarterback Johnny Manziel has “lost a lot of trust” among his teammates over the past year due to his lack of preparation and commitment to the ultimate, unified goal.
On Wednesday, Browns center Alex Mack had a more optimistic mindset on Manziel’s status.
In an interview with SiriusXM NFL Radio, Mack stated that he did not feel that Manziel had to win back his trust even though he had a disappointing rookie season and an interesting off-season. Mack argued hat “[Manziel] just needs to work hard… [and] play well” for his teammates.
"I think he can be the long-term answer in Cleveland at QB and I don't think he has to earn my trust back," Mack stated.
Mack gave Manziel a lot of credit for admitting that he has a problem with alcohol and even more credit for checking himself into an inpatient rehab facility. Mack even believes that Manziel might “take things more seriously” now that he has attended rehab.
On if Manziel is the answer at quarterback for the long-term, Mack said, “Yes."
Whether Manziel is the long-term answer at quarterback or not, at least the Browns starting center has faith in him and praises him for his latest decisions.
