Broncos assistant Dennison joining Houston staff

Broncos assistant coach Rick Dennison has agreed to become Houston's offensive coordinator, reuniting him with Texans coach Gary Kubiak.

Dennison tells the Denver Post and Houston Chronicle that it's hard to leave Denver but the chance to work with Kubiak again is too good to pass up.

Dennison was an assistant coach in Denver for 15 years, spending the last nine seasons as the offensive line coach.

He and Kubiak both played for Denver in the 1980s, and both were assistants under former Broncos coach Mike Shanahan.

Dennison replaces Shanahan's son Kyle, who will be joining his father on the Washington Redskins staff.
