Bills rookie RB calls Tyrod Taylor 'the G.O.A.T.' after 11 career starts

Determining who is the NFL's greatest player of all time is no easy task. There are so many viable candidates on both sides of the ball that it's nearly impossible to pick just one. The term "G.O.A.T." gets thrown around a lot because of that, but Buffalo Bills rookie Karlos Williams thinks he's nailed down who the real G.O.A.T. is: first-year starter Tyrod Taylor.

"He's the G.O.A.T.," Williams said of Taylor, via Mike Rodak of ESPN. "He's the G.O.A.T., in my opinion."

Maybe Williams isn't familiar with the acronym, but usually a player who's made 11 career starts isn't considered to be the greatest football player of all time. However, his logic for giving Taylor the title goes back to the quarterback's days at Virginia Tech.

"Obviously, Tyrod played at Virginia Tech, and my brother [Steelers linebacker Vince Williams] played at Florida State for a while," Williams said. "And the first ACC Championship [in 2010] my brother played in, he played against Tyrod. They beat Florida State -- they killed Florida State -- and they went on to play in the Orange Bowl.

"So I've seen him play at a high level. Here, he had a chance to be that leader. He's been that leader, to be able to make plays. He has, what, one of the best [quarterback ratings] in the NFL? He makes plays when they have to be made. When we had a lot of guys out vs. Tennessee [in Week 5], he took over that game. ... He takes things when they're not supposed to be for him, and that's the kind of thing that you need in the locker room."

Taylor has been extremely good this season, completing 63.5 percent of his passes with 18 touchdowns and just five interceptions. His 100.9 passer rating is good for fifth in the NFL and is on pace to have one of the best seasons by a Bills quarterback despite missing two games due to a knee injury.

He may not be the G.O.A.T., and he may never be, but he's undoubtedly been a great quarterback for the Bills this season. He's far from being one of the team's many issues.
