ORCHARD PARK, N.Y. -- Buffalo Bills cornerback Leodis McKelvin is out indefinitely with a broken right ankle.

McKelvin was injured while attempting to make a tackle during the first quarter of Thursday night's 22-9 loss to the Miami Dolphins.

Coach Doug Marrone said Friday the Bills are still evaluating whether to put McKelvin on injured reserve, and how they would fill his roster spot.

McKelvin, who has a career-high four interceptions and is also the Bills' top punt returner, pledged that Buffalo would beat the Dolphins following a loss to Kansas City last Sunday.

The Bills (5-5) host the New York Jets on Nov. 23.
