Bill Belichick reminds everyone that he is a football coach, not a medical doctor
As the New England Patriots prepare for the Houston Texans on a short week ahead of their game on Thursday night, the status of quarterback Jimmy Garoppolo remains uncertain after he suffered a sprained AC joint on Sunday against the Dolphins.
Belichick confirmed Tuesday morning that Garoppolo is at the facility would be participating in a walkthrough, but he would not go into much detail, not surprisingly, about the quarterback's condition. One reporter prodded about how the Patriots might proceed and if they might explore other options at quarterback, which prompted some classic Belichick scorn. It starts off generic and then escalates. As transcribed by NESN:
According to NESN's Doug Kyed, the individual pressing Belichick on this issue was the was one who asked the coach about Garoppolo possibly seizing the starting job from Tom Brady for Week 5, which caused an exasperated Belichick to mutter and roll his eyes.
Now imagine for a second that Belichick were your doctor about to sit down and deliver some grave news. Doesn't feel right, correct? Because clearly in this parallel universe he's a dentist and you'd better shut up and stay still because it's time for a root canal.
To answer everyone's question, no, it wasn't me. pic.twitter.com/KEG6rVtA9R
