Bears QB gets stood up by media — but Jay Cutler waits for no media

When the franchise QB — who happens to be one of the highest-paid players in the league — throws three interceptions to up his league-worst total while his team gets pounded at home by a sub-.500 team on national television, the barrage of questions from the media soon follows.

But apparently things are going so bad for Jay Cutler in Chicago right now, it appears even the media is tired of talking to him.

Case in point? Monday night's postgame news conference.

After the Saints thumped the Bears 31-15 at Soldier Field, Cutler took his natural position at the podium. Only, this is the "gathering" awaiting him:

And that lack of manpower on the other end of the mic led to a rather brief, but entertaining, news conference. Enjoy:

Now, while Cutler's act may indeed be growing thin with the Bears' fan base, the end of the news conference and subsequent tweets revealed what likely really happened — team's PR department apparently called Cutler to the podium before all of the media had actually made it to the media room.

And once Cutler found out, well . . . Jay Cutler waits for no media.

Cutler's stats for this season?

3,640 yards, 66.1 completion percentage, 28 TDs, 18 INTs, 89.5 passer rating.

Oh yeah, and these:

5 wins, 9 losses, fourth place (of four teams) in the NFC North.

Can you blame him for skipping out before the room filled up?
