49ers promote TE Je'Ron Hamm from practice squad

Updated Mar. 4, 2020 3:22 p.m. ET

SANTA CLARA, Calif. (AP) The San Francisco 49ers have promoted tight end Je'Ron Hamm from the practice squad to the active roster.

The team made the move Saturday because tight ends Vance McDonald (hip) and Garrett Celek (back) are questionable this week. San Francisco hosts Dallas on Sunday.

Hamm originally joined the 49ers after the team claimed him off waivers from Washington last year. He did not make the team out of camp this year and was placed on the practice squad.

The Niners released running back DuJuan Harris to make room for Hamm.
