Warriors' Curry on how to beat Rockets: 'I'll have to play defense this year'

Published Oct. 28, 2015 7:00 p.m. ET

Stephen Curry has not forgotten about what Houston Rockets guard Ty Lawson said about him earlier this month.

Lawson sounded off against Curry, saying he felt Curry rested on defense in the playoffs, which allowed him to be overly effective offensively. Curry initially brushed off the comments, saying they were "funny," but it looks like he's taken them to heart with the Warriors traveling to Houston to face the Rockets on Friday:

The sarcasm in Curry's comments is apparent, and a clear sign that he's going to do his best to roast Lawson and the Rockets. If his performance against the New Orleans Pelicans in the Warriors' season opener is any indication, the Rockets could be in for a long night.

The budding rivalry between the these two continues to grow with every barb traded through he media, though it has yet to reach the intensity of the Warriors' rivalry with Los Angeles Clippers, which is probably the best in the league right now.

There's still time, of course, and Friday should be a heated matchup.
