Tristan Thompson says Cavaliers players had motivational 'Last Supper' dinner

The Cleveland Cavaliers aren't looking past their Eastern Conference opponents, or so Tristan Thompson says.

The Cavaliers forward told Cleveland.com's Chris Haynes that the team met up Thursday night for a players-only dinner where focusing in the postseason was the main item of discussion. As Thompson put it, the meal was Cleveland's version of "The Last Supper."

"If you look back at Greek mythology and even back before World War I, every time a team would go out to battle, they'd eat first," Thompson said. "I think that's what it symbolizes before going out to battle. Having that last supper before it's time to go to war."

Mythology. Biblical comparisons. War imagery. What isn't there to like about how the Cavaliers are viewing the NBA playoffs—which Thompson says the Cavs are taking one super serious game at a time.

"Our championship game is Game 1 against the Pistons," Thompson said. "That's our championship game, and that's how you have to approach every game because you can't look to June. That's not guaranteed."

Indeed, June is not guaranteed, and my only question now is: who will deny LeBron three times before the Cavaliers fall?

[Eyeballs Kyrie].

Dan is on Twitter. Historically, most people eat before doing a lot of things.
