Trevor Booker completed NBA concussion protocol, active against Hornets

After suffering from an inadvertent concussion following an accidental strike from Sacramento's DeMarcus Cousins, Utah's Trevor Booker was sidelined against the Lakers.

On Sunday, the Jazz tweeted that Booker is able to return for Utah's game against Charlotte on Monday. While some predicted Booker would miss more time, the report via NBA.com explains that Booker is ready to return following his concussion from January 14. Booker reportedly completed the “Return-to-Participation Exertion Protocol” set by the NBA.

"This process includes a series of steps designed to ensure an athlete exhibits symptom-free behavior before resuming basketball activities," writes NBA.com. "During each step of the process Booker has remained symptom-free, including after his workouts earlier today."

Booker has become an essential figure for Utah's game plan, especially considering how injury-plagued the Jazz have become this season. He averages 5.4 points with a career-high 6.6 rebounds to go with 1.0 steal and 0.5 blocks per game.

Not only did Booker travel with the team for the upcoming road stretch, but so too did injured star Derrick Favors -- listed as questionable. The entire team (except for Alec Burks) reportedly traveled for the upcoming few games.
