Randy Wittman leaves court before Wizards officially lose in one-possession game

There wasn't much chance that the Washington Wizards would pull out a win or even overtime Wednesday night at home against the Indiana Pacers. George Hill hit a go-ahead layup with 2.7 seconds remaining and the Wizards found themselves down two with no timeouts.

Rasual Butler was forced to launch a potential game-winning 3-pointer from halfcourt. Again, there was very little chance that the shot would fall, the Pacers would commit a foul, or that some other miracle might happen.

Had such a miracle taken place, though, Wizards coach Randy Wittman would have had to check out the replay, as he'd already started walking away from the Washington bench before the shot reached the basket.

To be fair to Wittman, it's not like he was already in the tunnel when the buzzer sounded. He was still on the sideline, and he turned to see whether Butler sank his desperation heave. But with Washington having dropped three in a row before last night's loss, and with Wittman questioning his team's effort seemingly after every defeat, suffice it to say that this isn't a good look for Wittman and the Wizards.
