Patrick McCaw's game-winner lifts Warriors over Nuggets
Warriors’ rookie Patrick McCaw sunk a floater with time winding down in order to lift Golden State over the Denver Nuggets.
And the legend of Patrick McCaw continues. The rookie swingman hit a floater in the lane with time winding down to lift the Warriors over the Nuggets 129-128. This comes after he knocked down a deep three with 0.1 left in regulation to send it to overtime.
He was special down the stretch for Golden State. It looked as if the Warriors were going to drop to 2-2, but McCaw wasn’t having it. He hit consecutive threes in the fourth, including the one to tie the game. Then he took over in overtime. He scored 10 in the extra period, including the game-winner.
Prior to that, the Warriors weren’t really doing much. The Nuggets were safely holding onto a lead for most of the game as the starters played. It was going to be a solid win for them.

Klay Thompson continued score the basketball efficiently. He had 17 points on 7/12 shooting, knocking down three treys and grabbing 6 rebounds, but he was a -10 in 24 minutes. Kevin Durant dropped 19 points and made 3/4 three-pointers. Draymond Green was rather quiet in this one.
Stephen Curry got off to a slow start before leading all scorers. He missed his first seven three-pointers, but he knocked down two tough ones right before the end of the third quarter. He then got rolling. Curry poured in 22 points on 7/17 and hauled in 9 rebounds while dishing out 4 assists.
The Warriors are still figuring things out. They haven’t quite solved their rebounding problem yet. And they need to find ways to score if the long ball isn’t there. Even with all their star power, the team will go as far as Curry will take them.
Luckily, Patrick McCaw was there to bail the team out. They’ll take on the Los Angeles Lakers tomorrow in which their young talent will surely be tested.
