Nuggets mascot gives crowd scare
Mommy, is Rocky dead?
Spoiler alert: The Denver Nuggets didn't really hang their mascot Friday night. It just looked like they did, potentially traumatizing every child in the crowd.
What actually happened was the Nuggets' mascot apparently suffered a dizzy spell while he was being lowered to the court during a pregame stunt and passed out, dangling lifelessly and then crumpling on the floor as the crowd watched in horror.

He tweeted that he's OK, but after announcing in April that he's retiring after this season, Rocky may want to speed it up.
Feeling much better, #NuggetsNation! Thanks for your support. I hope to be back in action for 11/5 vs the @Spurs. Go @DenverNuggets!

Still, it's not the worst thing that's happened to an NBA mascot this season. The Raptors mascot is out for the year after tearing his ACL.
And if this mascot actually did meet his end — the costume, that is — on the court, people might cheer.
