Forget your "It's just the preseason" caveats. With two weeks remaining before the NBA season starts for real, teams are locking in and playing their real rotations this week. And that means there's no belittling the effort from Toronto Raptors point guard Kyle Lowry on Monday night.

Lowry erupted for 40 points against the Wolves, transfixing NBA diehards tuning in for preseason action:

According to the Associated Press, Lowry broke Vince Carter's team record for points in a preseason game (38). Lowry turned heads at media day earlier this offseason with a much leaner physique.

So far, it appears that the changes are paying off.
