On Thursday night, the Golden State Warriors are scheduled to host the New York Knicks, the first time the two sides have met since Kevin Durant signed with the Warriors this Summer.

While Durant was meeting with various executives from different franchises during the July 4th weekend, one meeting he declined was with the New York Knicks. He wouldn't even take a meeting with the great Phil Jackson ... how come?

In an interview with the New York Daily News' Stefan Bondy, Durant elaborated as to why this decision was made:

"Uh, because I didn't want to.

I didn't want to lead anybody on ... I got a lot of friends in the league. I got calls throughout the summer. But I made the best decision I wanted to make, the best decision for me, I'm happy I'm here. All that stuff is in the past. Melo and I remain great friends. That's what's most important. We didn't let that get in between the friendship.

I thought about the teams that I met with, that's who I sat down with ... I was locked in on what I had in front of me. So I got a great respect for Phil Jackson and the Knicks organization. Melo, especially. But nah, we moved on. There's nothing more than that."
