NEW YORK (AP) Pau Gasol is sitting out Chicago's game against the Knicks after the Bulls played a four-overtime game a night earlier.
Coach Fred Hoiberg says Derrick Rose will play, though the Bulls will watch the point guard carefully after he played 54 minutes in their 147-144 home loss to Detroit on Friday.
Gasol logged 48 minutes in that game and the Bulls left the 35-year-old center in Chicago to rest. Joakim Noah will start and seldom-used rookie Bobby Portis is expected to get additional playing time.
The Bulls arrived in their New York hotel Saturday after 4 a.m. Rose, who has a history of knee problems, told Hoiberg that he felt good after his heavy workload. Hoiberg said there wasn't a minutes restriction for either Rose or Jimmy Butler, who went 56 minutes, but would look to possibly get them an early break.
