Drake on His Airness: It's my job to act like I'm Michael Jordan

When you rise to the top of your chosen field, you can run out of comparisons for your own excellence pretty quickly.
Say you're rapper and all-around sports fan Drake. Whom in the music industry can you possibly consider peers? Yeezy? D.J. Kha--okay, no, probably not D.J. Khaled.
Instead, you have to branch out to find your equals — say, by letting people know that when you're on stage, you carry yourself with a swagger that evokes Michael Jordan. And that's just what Drake claimed in a recent spot for Jordan Brand:
“Jordan is a winning mentality."@Drake knows. #WEAREJORDANhttps://t.co/SjdFDn6TEx

He doesn't quite come out and say that he is the Michael Jordan of rap, but Drake's not shy about his Jordan-esque mentality:
"It can apply to anything, anyone's life. You know, my life is to go out there and get on that stage, you know, act as if I am Mike, act as if it is the playoffs, act as if there is a championship trophy to be won. When I'm walking through the tunnel, I have the same fire in my eyes. Jordan promotes a winning mentality, you know, for anybody, in any walk of life."
Drake's a well-known fan of Jordan Brand. He has his own OVO Jordan 10 already — a shoe that Sacramento Kings big man DeMarcus Cousins showed off at the team's media day — and a black version is due to be released in conjunction with 2016 NBA All-Star weekend.
Oh, and when he's not rocking his own line of Jordan kicks, Drake's been known to flash Js that sell at auction for five-digits.
Because when you're Drake, why not? Even the President (sort of) recognizes your Jordan-affiliated greatness:
And now, thanks to Toronto's own @Drake, a message from President @BarackObama ...
