Chris Bosh: 'This is a chance to write our legacy without 'Bron'

Chris Bosh has never made the NBA Finals without LeBron James. And the Heat won just 37 games in their first season after James left to return to Cleveland. But now, after Miami has gotten off to a 9-4 start to this year, the Heat are placing themselves in the drivers' seat (or at least the passenger's one) to win the East.

Bosh is pumped about it. From Jason Lieser of the Palm Beach Post:

The Heat now sit with the second-best record in the Eastern Conference after their blowout win over the Knicks on Monday. They trail only LeBron's 11-3 Cavs in the East, back one in the loss column.

More importantly, Miami's defense has been fantastic all year. The Heat allowed just 78 points to the Knicks, bringing their defensive efficiency all the way down to best in the league. Even if players like Goran Dragic and Dwyane Wade take a little while longer before they get into their prime mode once again, it seems like the defense can carry this team.

Miami looks good. And if the motivation is to write a post-LeBron legacy, that means the Heat's home game against Cleveland a week from Saturday should be a fun one.
