Cavs guard Shumpert arrested on DUI suspicion
CLEVELAND (AP) The Cavaliers say guard Iman Shumpert was arrested last month on suspicion for driving under the influence.
Shumpert was arrested on Aug. 10 in Fayette County, Georgia, following a traffic stop for a lane violation. The NBA champion Cavs said it has discussed the situation with Shumpert and ''will monitor the progression of the pending case.''
No court date has been set. The team said it will not have any further comment while the legal process unfolds.
Shumpert has spent two seasons with the Cavs, who acquired him in a 2015 trade with the New York Knicks. He averaged 5.8 points in 54 games last season and appeared in 21 postseason games for the Cavs, who rallied from a 3-1 deficit to stun Golden State in the finals.
Shumpert and his fiancee, singer Teyana Taylor, recently appeared in a music video by rapper Kanye West.
