Cavaliers ‘definitely concerned’ about Kevin Love’s ailing left knee

The Cleveland Cavaliers could be without All-Star forward Kevin Love for the foreseeable future. Love will get a second opinion on his balky knee Tuesday, and the team has expressed concern about the injury.

"I would love to be able to tell you that he'll miss three games and be back, but I can't right now because we don't know," general manager David Griffin said, via the Cleveland Plain Dealer.

Love, who had an MRI on Sunday, was ruled out of Tuesday’s game against the Timberwolves. The Cavs have one more game – Wednesday against the Pacers – before the All-Star break.

Love complained about pain in his left knee during the Cavs’ 125-109 win over the Nuggets on Saturday. The team did not announce the results of the MRI, but head coach Tyronn Lue didn’t hide his apprehension.

"Always concerned when guys are going down," Lue said. "And we're already limited as it is. Definitely concerned, but gotta see how he feels. Just, get evaluated tomorrow and see how he feels.”

Love has been a key component in the Cavs’ 37-16 mark this season, averaging 20 points and 11.1 rebounds. Cleveland is already missing shooting guard J.R. Smith, who has been out since mid-December with a thumb injury.
