Boston Celtics won't offer first-round pick for Markieff Morris

Phoenix Suns forward Markieff Morris is upset with his current employer for trading his twin brother, Marcus, to the Detroit Pistons back in July. He wants out and officially let the world know by not-so-politely requesting a trade on Twitter.

Markieff has talent, but which team will give up anything of value to take him on, considering the Suns have no leverage and the player in question isn't exactly the most mature asset around.

The market is thin, and according to Grantland's Zach Lowe, the Boston Celtics are voluntarily on the outside looking in:

Morris' contract is incredibly team friendly. He's due just $32 million over the next four years. That's great value, but Boston already has a small army of power forwards, mostly on rookie-scale contracts.

More importantly, as a rebuilding team with young, impressionable players on the roster, the Celtics aren't interested in acquiring guys with questionable character flaws. On top of his inability to handle Marcus' move to the Pistons like a professional, Morris also has a felony assault charge hanging over his head.

Who knows where he'll be a month from now? Just don't count on it being Boston.

We all know the obvious suspects by now. Toronto and Boston have so-so starting power forwards and extra picks, but I’m not sure either sees Morris as an upgrade. And not even Boston, hoarding so many picks in every draft range, is coughing up a first-rounder for Morris right now.
