Atlanta's Al Horford returns to former agent, Wasserman Media Group

Al Horford, a three-time All-Star with the Atlanta Hawks, announced a big change to his personnel on Friday.

According to a report from MyAJC.com, Horford rejoined his former agent at Wasserman Media Group. Horford, who becomes an unrestricted free agent this offseason, had previously joined BDA Sports Management under Bill Duffy. He left the agency after just two months.

“It’s just a personal decision,” said Horford, in the report. “I just felt more comfortable being with Wasserman.”

Horford has spent the majority of his career with Wasserman's Arn Tellem; he first left the agency when Tellem accepted a job in the front office for the Detroit Pistons. He returns at a key moment in his contract.

With Horford's expiring contract, he can at the moment sign an extension with the Hawks and only receive a minimal raise on his $12 million salary. Or, he can become an unresricted free agent this offseason and earn a much larger increase with the Hawks or a new team.
