Best Season By A Hawk Wearing #2
Joe Johnson (2007)
25.0 PPG, 4.2 RPG, 4.4 APG in 41.4 MPG
The most recent wing superstar in team history (other than Justin Holiday), Johnson’s place in Hawks lore is cemented. His number should one day end up retired, and for good reason. His scoring prowess is well understood; he averaged at least 18 points in all seven of his with the Hawks. Even in the team’s worst seasons, “Iso Joe” impacted the team more than any other.
Even with seven standout seasons under his belt, the 2006-07 season was arguably better than the rest. He put up an astounding 25 points per game, a career high, along with four rebounds and four assists. For his game-changing performance, Johnson was selected to his first of six straight All-Star game. Using his pure jumpshot and underrated all-around game, Johnson led the Hawks to never-before-seen success. Though a ball stopper at times, he could take over a game in the same vain as Kobe or Carmelo during his prime.
Who wore #2 most recently?
James Nunnally (2014)
Better known as the worst player in NBA 2K16, Nunnally has become somewhat of a meme in the 2K world. Countless YouTube videos exist where players attempt to score an outrageous amount of points with such an untalented player. In real life, he starred at UC Santa Barbara, but went undrafted in the 2012 draft. Nunnally has dominated multiple foreign leagues, including being named league MVP for his performance with Sidigas Avellino in the Champions League.Who’s your favorite #3 in Hawks history?
