Matt Kenseth's race-winning car fails post-race inspection

Published Jul. 17, 2016 7:34 p.m. ET

After winning Sunday's NASCAR Sprint Cup Series race at New Hampshire Motor Speedway, Matt Kenseth's No. 20 Joe Gibbs Racing Toyota failed post-race inspection.

The car did not meet the requirements in the laser inspection station (LIS) after Sunday's New Hampshire 301. It will also be further evaluation this week at the NASCAR Research and Development Center in Concord, North Carolina.

NASCAR will not take away Kenseth's victory, but penalties are expected to be handed down midweek.
