DAYTONA BEACH, Fla. - Rookie Corey LaJoie brought out the first caution in the 59th running of the Daytona 500 in a scary moment.
When the Stewart-Haas Racing Ford drivers pitted around Lap 30, LaJoie and his BK Racing Toyota came flying toward pit road and nearly rear-ended Clint Bowyer’s SHR entry.
LaJoie came in way too hot and so to avoid running into the back of Bowyer, LaJoie turned hard right, sending his Toyota into the frontstretch wall.
But his BK Racing crew was able to make repairs and get LaJoie back into the race.
