Chase Elliott among 45 drivers on Richmond Sprint Cup entry list

Forty-five drivers are on the preliminary entry list for Saturday night's Toyota Owners 400 NASCAR Sprint Cup Series race at Richmond International Raceway (7 p.m. ET, FOX).

Reigning XFINITY Series champion Chase Elliott, who made his much-anticipated Sprint Cup debut for Hendrick Motorsports last month at Martinsville, returns for the second of five scheduled races this season in the No. 25 Hendrick Chevy.

Reed Sorenson, who hasn't qualified for a race since the season-opening Daytona 500, replaces Chris Buescher this weekend in the No. 34 Front Row Motorsports Ford.

Buescher, a full-time XFINITY Series driver, has been in the No. 34 for the past four races.

Also, as reported earlier Wednesday, Denny Hamlin plans to return to his No. 11 JGR Toyota after bailing out of his car 22 laps into last Sunday's race at Bristol where he was suffering from neck spasms.
