Carl Edwards-Darian Grubb pairing could be magical

The 2015 season will mark for the first time that Joe Gibbs Racing has fielded four teams in the NASCAR Sprint Cup series.

Carl Edwards departed Roush Fenway Racing at the end of 2014 and will be paired with championship-winning crew chief Darian Grubb. I really like that combination and I expect big things from them.

I can see a scenario where Carl has the kind of season his former now current teammate Matt Kenseth had in 2013, and like Kevin Harvick had in 2014. Both Matt and Kevin were ready for a change. It was like a breath of fresh air for their careers, and as we saw, they both put big numbers up on the board. Matt won seven races in 2013 and, of course, as you know, Kevin won the championship last year.

So I can see Carl and Darian truly complementing each other and see the possibility of multiple visits to Victory Lane this season. Truth be told, with all the changes made at Joe Gibbs Racing, I see all four teams having the chance to make a bunch of noise this season and play a role in the Chase. Naturally, as we keep telling you, the X-factor is how this new rules package for 2015 is going to play out for not only JGR but all the race teams.

Of the four drivers over there, Carl is my pick to really do well this season. As I mentioned, just like in everyday life, there comes a point when you are simply ready for change. You are ready for a new beginning.

Again, we saw the success that both Matt and Kevin had, plus we can't forget how well Joey Logano is doing since moving to Team Penske.
